My grandchild has two clubfeet and her mother won't put the child's brace on whenever she is sleeping, like the doctor said to. My daughter-in-law says the baby doesn't like it. Will this mean her foot may go back to where it was before?

The treatment of clubfoot, a condition where the foot is pointing down and in, may include bracing after casting and surgery to release the tendon in the back of the foot, the Achilles tendon. However, for the brace to be effective, it must be worn for the amount of time the doctor prescribes. If the brace is not worn consistently, it is possible that the foot will not stay in its proper place and more treatment may be needed down the road.
