Unfortunately, no. The chance of another shoulder dislocation in people under 30 years old who participate in sports is high. That chance goes down with age. The amount of time in a sling does not seem to lower the chances. Arthroscopy surgery is another treatment approach to consider that may keep you from dislocating the shoulder again.
