I type all day at work. Is there any equipment that will help me avoid carpal tunnel syndrome?

When the wrists bend outward while typing, pressure can build up on the median nerve inside the carpal tunnel. Too much pressure can harm the nerve and lead to problems with carpal tunnel syndrome.

Split computer keyboards can help. These keyboards come in two sections that you can position to help keep your wrists and forearms in line. Research has shown that these keyboards are much more effective than regular keyboards in keeping the wrists in the "neutral position." Keeping the wrist and forearm in a straight line helps keep pressure off the median nerve inside the carpal tunnel and reduces strain on the tendons of the wrist.
