FAQI have been pregnant four times although I miscarried twice, so I have two living children. After my second miscarriage, I started having low back pain that has never gone away. Is this a common problem? Why can't I get back to normal? Matt01 week 1 day ago
FAQMy two sisters have had five pregnancies between them. They are always complaining about back pain. When I was a Peace Corps volunteer in three other countries, I never heard the women complain of back pain. Are we just spoiled Americans quick to complain about the slightest ache and pain? I'm having trouble feeling any sympathy for my siblings. Matt01 week 1 day ago
FAQI am on the women's tennis team at my college. Lately, I've been having quite a bit of wrist pain, especially when I move my hand toward the pinkie side. Would a different racquet help? What type would you recommend? Matt01 week 1 day ago
FAQOur son is on the local high school golf team hoping to get spotted and picked up for a college team. Last season, he had a wrist injury that is still bothering him. The doctor has told us he needs surgery but he insists on putting this off until after the college scouts are gone. Should we intervene and insist on treatment now? Matt01 week 1 day ago
FAQMother is going to have a vertebroplasty this week. Her regular surgeon isn't available, so they are recommending the radiologist do the procedure. I'm not really sure how to ask this question but are they qualified to do surgery? Matt01 week 1 day ago
FAQMy doctor has recommended a fusion for me (my neck). After two years of rehab, my pain is better but the X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs show it's not stable. Now we are talking about all the different options. The surgeon prefers to use something called ACDF with bone graft and a metal plate. I'd like to get by without the metal. Is it possible? FAQI'm using my laptop to read up on a procedure called vertebroplasty. My wife is having one as I wait in the hospital. I've found that it's not a surgery everyone can have. She's having it because of a spine fracture at two levels from cancer (multiple myeloma). I'm seeing mostly people with osteoporosis have this operation but I'm not finding much about cancer patients. What can you tell me? Matt01 week 1 day ago
FAQI have a chance to be part of a study using a dissolving plate to fuse my neck. I'm wondering what you think about these. Matt01 week 1 day ago

FAQI'm 63-years-old and have had diabetes for about 10 years. It's been pretty well controlled but I'm starting to notice problems with my hands. My fingers are stiff and don't move as well as they used to and sometimes one of my fingers seems to get stuck. I have to pull it to get it straight. Is this from my diabetes or something else? Matt01 week 1 day ago
FAQI saw a brief segment on the news about a new treatment using my own blood for chronic tennis elbow. I would love to try it. It's been months since I played a game without pain. My doctor didn't seem to know anything about it. I said I would research it and get back to him. What can you tell me about this? Matt01 week 1 day ago
FAQI'm looking into the possibility of getting one of those platelet-plasma shots for my knee arthritis. I'll stop at nothing until I can get some pain relief from this problem. The question I have is: can I get this treatment if I've had cancer? I know it's supposed to help speed up blood supply and healing to the area. Could that also cause cancer cells to grow faster? I am getting chemotherapy for the rest of my life for ovarian cancer. Matt01 week 1 day ago

My doctor also prescribed Neurontin. But we have two different kinds of pain. Then, I read that it's really a drug for epilepsy. What is going on? Matt02 weeks 1 day ago
