FAQI've been told I'm a good candidate for a meniscal transplant. I've also been told the failure rate is fairly high (one-third). Is it worth taking a chance on for a bum knee with no meniscus on one side and arthritis starting to develop? I'm only 41 and very active. Matt02 days 2 hours ago
FAQMy surgeon carefully went over each step of the spinal fusion procedure I am going to have next week. I will have bone from a bone bank grafted in to help with the fusion. I have osteoporosis myself and can't donate my own bone. I did hear something about the risk of infection but the information was all so new and flew right past me. Is the infection from the bone graft because it's donated bone or does it develop from something else? Matt02 days 2 hours ago

FAQMy mother is taking some sort of narcotic for her back pain. She's been taking it for a few months now and I'm afraid she's getting addicted because she has asked her doctor a few times for higher doses, which he gives. What can I do? Matt01 week 2 days ago
FAQMy back hurts a lot. I mean a lot. I injured it at work several months ago and haven't been able to go back. My doctor orders me some medications but none of them help. I want her to prescribe me some morphine or something, but she won't. Isn't that one of the more powerful drugs and why would she say that it won't help my back then? Matt01 week 2 days ago
FAQMy father had cauda equina syndrome but he didn't hurt hit back in any way that he remembers. His doctor said his spinal canal had narrowed. Could this be a cause? Matt01 week 2 days ago

FAQMy husband hurt his shoulder and it was finally diagnosed as a subacromial impingement. He had had x-rays and stuff done, but the doctor diagnosed him after he examined my husband and had him move his shoulder around. Why was this not seen on the x-rays? Matt01 week 2 days ago
FAQWhen I hurt my shoulder a few months ago, the doctor made me move it around while she pressed on it. This ended up causing pain. It turns out that I had something called an impingement. Is it normal to do a test that causes pain? Matt01 week 2 days ago
FAQWhen my daughter was little, she was diagnosed with arthritis. She's been doing quite well despite some periods when she has a lot of pain. Unfortunately, her illness has made it really hard for my husband and me. Although we both act as a team in front of her, we are really being torn apart by her health. We're stressed by her dealing with the pain and we often end up blaming each other. Do other parents have the same problem? Matt01 week 2 days ago
FAQMy son was diagnosed a few years ago with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. He does well most of the time, but when his pain is really bad, he doesn't want to do anything, even go to school. My wife babies him and allows him to get his own way. I think that this is causing him to drag his pain complaints out longer. Is this possible or am I just being mean, as my wife says?
