Scaphoid Fracture, Now Wrist Feels Tight?
Posted January 26th, 2009 by asking79I broke my scaphoid at the beginning of November. I wore a cast for 6-9 weeks, then I got a brace for about another 4 weeks. When they first took the cast off, my arm felt really strange and "tingly." I felt like I couldn't use my hand and my arm was really skinny. This was my first cast and I'm 30 years old. Now I went back to the doctor about a week ago and he did more x-rays and said he can't even see where the fracture was. I told him my wrist felt really tight like I couldn't really move it in the full range of motion as I can my other wrist, and that it was really tender feeling.
Wrist - Fractured scaphoid
Posted January 26th, 2009 by PatriciaI have avascular necrosis of my scaphoid bone due to an undetected fracture 12 months ago. My surgeon has recommended carrying out "proximal row carpectomy". I wondered if anyone has undergone this procedure and can give me an idea of length of recovery and final outcome, re pain relief and mobility. Any info would be very much appreciated. Regards
painful pea sized lump on inner aspect of wrist
Posted January 21st, 2009 by LizaMomTo4For about the past week I have noticed a tiny lump (approx pea sized) under the skin on the inner aspect of my right wrist. It doesn't move when pushed from different angles, but is extremely tender to the touch. I don't have any tingling or pain in the hand. My wrist is becoming a bit tender in that area though. I also do not notice any grip weakness or dexterity issues.
Any advice on what this could be????
Thank you!!!!!!
CONTINUOUS WRIST PAIN FOR 6 WEEKS ???
Posted December 31st, 2008 by mrshWITHIN 24 HOURS OF FEELING WRIST/HAND PAIN,FOR NO APPARENT REASON I WAS IN SO MUCH PAIN, WITH SWELLING TO THE DORSAL AREA AND WHERE MY FINGERS WERE BENT OVER AT THE SECOND JOINT, THAT I ATTENDED THE A & E DEPT OF MY HOSPITAL. THERE WAS A MINOR CUT TO MY PALM WHICH WAS APPROX 2 DAYS OLD, SO THEY ASPIRATED THE AREA IN CASE OF INFECTION, WHICH RETURNED AS NEGATIVE, PRESCRIBED DICLOPHENIC AND CODEINE AND GIVEN A WRIST SPLINT.

Proximal Row Carpectomy for S.L.A.C. wrist- Outcome for Sports
Posted December 9th, 2008 by melibelIn a few weeks I'll go through the PRC for SLAC wrist.
I'm interested in the practical outcome of the operation, especially for sports.
I've read about “30% mobility up and down, 0% to 10% lateral mobility…etc”…but practically what can you really do after the PRC.
Will I be able to play squash, volley ball, badminton, weight lifting, karate, bicycle (now I can’t even lean on my handle bar)…do push ups..or even shake hands painlessly?
Thanks for taking time in sharing your experience and knowledge.

Proximal Row Carpectomy questions
Posted October 12th, 2008 by aford80I am having the PRC surgery in November and I am trying to research it as much as possible and what I'm seeing scares the crap out of me. I broke my wrist in Feb. and had 1 surgery in June and have been in physical therapy since march but nothing has helped. I'm in pain all the time and pretty much have very little movement. Worst of all this is my dominant hand. Has anyone gone through this and what can I expect??
Thank you for any response.
