I am having insrtumentation removal surgery tomorrow. I have screws L4/L5. If someone went thru this and please give me some more info.

Almost 2 1/2 years ago I had Laminectomy Disectomy. Everything went fine, all the pain existed before was not there anymore. But a few months ago I started experiencing sever leg pain associated with tingling and numbness. I went to see my Dr. and he recommended and MRI which revealed that I had a recurrent herniation. He suggested surgery immediately. I was reluctant to undergo a second open back surgery, so I asked for a second opinion.

This is my 2nd attempt at posting, so please work with me. I have a problem with my back popping or cracking like you would crack your nuckles. As I bend or flex my joints pop/crack all the way up to the neck and back down. I also feel like the breast bone/rib cage cracks. This goes on and on. Initially it is ok, but after a few repititions it begins to get sore and irriate me. I know we all creek as we get older, but this is a little too much creeking.

Had posterolateral intertransverse spinal fusion L5s1--bmp2 placed on sponges and inserted into the bone, without cages. Shortly after started having joint pain, in all my joints. All tests come back neg. RA, Lupus etc. I believe it is a reaction to the bmp2, bovine. Anyone else having this problem!

OK Here is the deal, Had bad left leg and some right leg pain pre-surgery. Had the surgery on 11-26 and the neuro-surgeon did a L2/L3 Discectomy and L3/L4 Laminectomy. I had no pain day of and mornig after surgery but when I got home from hospital the pain in my right hip joint and front of right leg was so bad could hardly walk. Now 2 weeks post surgery, I am trying to walk 30 min a day and be some active not lifting but shopping etc... When I get home and lie down I get these bad paind in my hip and front of thigh. Heat seems to help and once I rest usually can get up and walk some.

Our 6 year old boy fell from a height of 5' and landed on his buttocks. He has been complaining of back/spinal pain that has awakened him at night. He was diagnosed today with a compression fracture in the L1 area. What are or could be the long term effects of this? We still are gathering information from our physicians but want to know if anyone has experienced this situation before.

Does anyone experience problems with the facet joints? My lower back has been hurting for a long time now; several years. I have been diagnosed as having arthritic facet joints.

There is some great information on this site about this.

Please let me know if anyone has this same problem,

I was reading about Lumbar Artificial Disc Replacement on your web site my Brother in law is a could be a canidate for this procedure after reading about it on your site we live in Kingsport, Tn. could you tell me where i could find a doctor close or where would be the closest place he could talk to a doctor that preforms this procedure.
