Waiting for Knee Replacement
Posted September 30th, 2008 by rahaasI have been told that I need a knee replacement when I am ready. I also have a completely torn ACL in the same knee. I was prescribed an Unloader brace which helps a lot. My question is - can I do too much damage if I wait for the replacement? It hurts when I walk and at night, but I'm not sure that I want the surgery yet. The Doctor told me that the timing is up to me, based on how much pain I can handle, and other tools such as drugs and the brace. I just don't want to screw up my knee too much so that the replacement won't be successful.

bakers cyst (popliteal cyst)
Posted September 11th, 2008 by grannyjmlI have had rheumatoid arthritis for 18 years. The last 2 have been a mess....I had a ruptured bakers cyst on my right knee 2 years ago. Have been experiencing pain and swelling behind my left knee for 2 months . 2 days ago I "sprouted" a second lump behind left knee. After trip to rheumatoligist and trip to Emergency room to rule out Blood clot I now have 2 cysts in left knee and one in my right knee. One of the left cysts extends into my calf, making my calf measurement 1" larger than the right at this time.
Kneecaps get stuck
Posted September 8th, 2008 by pete4315Whenever I stand up now from sitting or kneeling, I have to pause until the kneecaps move into position, otherwise it feels painful and insecure. Another sign of age and wear and tear!

Osgood Schlatters HELP
Posted July 21st, 2008 by seboI am an Active, 22 year old, Male.
I was diagnosed with OSD (Osgood Schlatters Disease) when I was about 14 y/o.
The pain has been consistently, and recurring. Sometimes it is bearable, other times it is so painful that I have to sit down and massage it.
I have been to the doctors and they have sent me through Physio therapy, which has done nothing for me, except cause more pain.
I went through a Bone Scan and X-ray, and I would like some input on an X-ray that had seemed a bit unusual for a normal knee.
Knee dislocation: rupture of the PCL and ACL and meniscus tear
Posted July 16th, 2008 by jtomHi I am wondering if I could get some in sight from some orthopedic surgeons about my knee problem. First I have to state that I am a large guy 6"4 and 335lbs and this will amplify the problem i understand. Two years ago I dislocated my knee when I reached back to punch one of those punching bag machines that reads how hard you can punch. Anyways I ruptured the PCL, ACL and damaged the meniscus to some degree and also twisted the perennial nerve and had to regrow 22 inches of nerve in my knee.

dislocated tibia
Posted April 22nd, 2008 by kncb95I have had my tibia in my left knee come out of socket twice and the same in the right knee once. When it happens I have my knee bent and I am twisting my upper body to reach for something. The tibia comes out about 1/4". I immediately twist may body back and it will slide back into place. It causes extreme pain when it is happening and is very tender the next week. After that it will be tender just off and on the tenderness is behind my knee and there is also soft tissue swelling. Since it does not bother me often should I see someone about it?
