leg longer after hip replacement
Posted February 20th, 2009 by donnieI had total hip replacement surgery on my left hip nearly two years ago...that leg is now just over 1 inch longer than the right and is in constant pain all of the time - an 8 on the pain chart - i am having revision surgery in the next few weeks...the doctors performing my revision (NOT the one who did my initial surgery and obviously can't read a tape measure!) have ruled out other causes of my pain and attribute it directly to the length issue...i am considering a malpractice lawsuit against the intitial doctor and have been told that +/- 1cm length difference (just under 1/2") is the maxim
Bilateral hip dislocation
Posted February 11th, 2009 by SheryI was born with a hip dislocation in both my hips. My parents refuse to have the surgery option & the other optioned failed. I have no pain & I can walk normally. Now, I'm 23 & I have this question that I want an answer for it. Is it okay to get pregnant, will there be any complication?
numbness in leg after (THR)
Posted January 13th, 2009 by raymedeanI am a 29 year old male who had a total hip replacemnt on the 17th on december 2008, as a result of leg perthis disease when i was 10 to 11 years old. My recovery is going good, i guess. I am only able to put 50% of my weight on the operated leg as of now, however i have very little pain from the hip socket. My range of moition is coming back in the area, as mussels are starting to come around. I would say that everything is going great however, after surgery when i left the hospital i still had a numbness in my operated leg on the outside of my calf and all of my foot.

leg length discrepency
Posted October 2nd, 2008 by RonPrior to hip resurfacing, my bad leg was about 3/16" longer. After resurfacing it appears nearly 1/2" longer. Anyone have experience with post op leg length changing with time? I'm hoping with time the difference will become less.
