Trochanteric Bursitis
Posted August 26th, 2008 by kaliblondieI am a 20 year old female and I fracutred my pelvis while I was in the US Army. I was told they were "marching fractures." I have had problems with my hips ever since the fractures have healed. I have seen 3 different doctors, two of which urged me to get some sort of surgery and the one I saw today who was a hip specialist told me what I knew six months ago - that I have trochanteric bursitis. The surgeon said he refused to do a surgery for bursitis because the surgery doesn't help. I have extreme constant pain with any movement, have to use a forearm crutch at times so I can walk.
hip pain since falling 6 weeks ago
Posted August 25th, 2008 by 2shakesofalambstailI am a 23 year old healthy female with no past or current medical problems. I don't smoke or take any medications other than a multivitamin.
6 weeks ago I fell off a horse and landed on a rock over my right greater trochanter. after about 30 minutes i was able to walk. 4 days later a big black bruise appeared that went away after about 5 weeks. I also had minimal bruising over my right iliac crest. That was not painful at all compared to my trochanter.

Hip fused for 10 years looking for options for THR
Posted June 23rd, 2008 by mommy2mygirlsHi I am a 27 year old mother of 2. I have had my right hip fused for 10 years and am looking for some insight into having a THR or Resurfacing within the next 5 years.
I fear that Ortho Docs will tell me that the pain level has to be really bad before anything will be don for me, because I don't have a lot of pain I could probably have my hip fused for another 10 years but I don't think I can stand it anymore.
Range of Motion After Bilateral Hip Resurfacing
Posted May 30th, 2008 by ruthzHi: I'm posting here for the first time. I am a little over two years post op from bilateral hip resurfacing surgery. I am a ballet dancer. I'm taking class 5 or so days a week and doing well, but I still don't have my complete range of motion back yet. I can do the front-back splits easily, but the side-ways splits are not back completely - I was able to get to 180 degrees and I'd day I'm about 160 degrees. Any suggestions from dancers, martial artists, etc? Thanks
ruthz

Posted May 21st, 2008 by ksumlinTo whom ever may read this, I am new to this sight and not exactly sure how it works. i have read and learned lots of new things from this sight.
I wanted to share my story and maybe just maybe I can get some advice on what to do next.
I was diagnosed with avascular necrosis of the right hip 3 years ago, I was told back then in order to fix the problem with my hip I would need to have Surgery (core decompression). I had the surgery and have been in pain ever since.
leg numbness from hip
Posted May 10th, 2008 by BobbiI have been told I need hip replacement in both hips. I wonder if it is advisable to have them both done at the same time. And would this be causing pain and numbness in my knees at night while sleeping?
Hip Osteoarthritis
Posted April 21st, 2008 by twells1303I recently have had some very minor groin pain in my right hip. I play soccer and it doesn't hurt at all when I play, but hurts sporadically here and there as I walk around. I feel it slightly maybe 10% of the time I walk. I went to an orthopedist. He took and x-ray of my hip and said that I have osteoarthritis and pointed out some osteophites forming around my joint in both hips(although I don't notice ay pain in my left hip). He was very doom and gloom about the whole thing. I am scared. I am only 33 years old, fit, thin and very active.
