Sleep Study _ Electrode Stimulation

I recently had a sleep study conducted because of chronic pain. Even though it is supposedly to the contrary, I felt slight electrical stimultion in my legs when they turned on the monitoring device. Has anyone else had this experience?

Why all this pain?

Hello,

Until 8 years ago, I was a healthy, active woman who was much stronger than average (rode lots of horses). Then I injured my lower back in what should have been a nothing incident, and it has been giving me quite a lot of trouble since. Now, I am at a point where I get quite sore all over from just little day to day activities, and I have pain in multiple areas of my body nearly all the time. My fingers are stiff and hurt badly if they get twisted (opening a jar, etc.), my arms/neck/shoulders/hips/knees/wrists all get sore at the drop of a hat.

Pain/aching/throbbing joints ... Rheumatoid?

5 weeks ago I was given a futura splint for my wrist as they thought that I had tendonitis, however I now have had aching in my proximal inter-phalangeal joints of my fingers and toes for the past 2 weeks. At times the aching turns to shooting pain starting in the joint and traveling up towards the finger tips, or throbbing and occassional stiffness. I am getting worried now that I may have Rheumatoid Arthritis but don't want to see a doctor as I am a student nurse and am afraid that Occupational Health wont let me stay on the course.

Fasciotomy for compartment Syndrome

In 2001 I had a fasciotomy on my lower leg due to compartment syndrome. The surgery was successful and I was able to exercise pain free for the last 5 years. In the last 6 mos to a year the leg has ballooned in size (the calf and the shin both) to almost the size of my thigh. It's double the size of my other leg. The ortho who did the surgery retired, and a woman from his office referred me to a doctor who DOES NOT EVEN DEAL WITH COMPARTMENT SYNDROME!! I guess that's what you get in a small state like Vermont. Does anyone know if this treatable??

Joint aches

I don;t know if this is the right place to ask this question, but here goes.

I have been getting swelling in several joints the last few motnhs, mainly in the knees and ankles, but all my joints and muscles hurt. I can;t sleep because of the pain and can;t do my housework without taking tons of ibuprofen. That's not helping much anymore.

I'm getting scared and thinking of going to a doctor or chriopractior to see what is wrong. Does anyone have anything similar? Ideas?

Kathleen
