Accessory navilcular removal surgery with posterier tibial tendon repair

in

I am 1 week post surgery to have the accesory navilclar bone removed and the posterior tibial tendon reattached and repaired. How long is the recovery process? I have been told I need to spend another week in bed in a NWB splint. I go into a NWB cast next week, for 6-8 weeks then a walking cast after that.

Has anyone had this surgery? If so, does this look like the amount of time before I cannot get moving around? I am already going a bit crazy and house bound!

Screw Removal from Ankle

I will have the syndesmotic screws removed from my ankle next week and I want to know what to expect. I am not being put to sleep and I want to know if it will be uncomfortable and how long will I be non-weight baring. My ankle is sore and very stiff and I want to know how long it will take to get all of my mobility back. I tore the ligaments in February and I have been in an aircast for 3 months now.

Diffuse Ankle Pain

I run about 20 miles a week and do other activities (ongoing for about 3 years). About 3 months ago, w/out any apparent cause, I developed pain in the outside of my left ankle. At first it would come in the morning and later go away. Later it was only after running. Now it arrives during running and is in the general area of the outer ankle, top of foot, and inside of heel. The only movement that consistently reproduces the pain is hopping on the left foot or climbing stairs (i.e. not during walking, balancing on one foot, raising up on the toes, or going down stairs).

Mystery Ankle Pain

in

I am a 23 year old woman who is looking for futher help in solving my mysterious pain. For the past year I have been experincing episodes of sudden sharp shooting pain in my ankles. I will stand up and go to walk, I will suddenly get sharp shooting pains in my ankles almost as if they are locking up, and I will literally fall to the floor. I not only experince it in my ankles but in my wrists as well. These episodes may last from a couple days to a week or two. Then they will disappear for sometime with no incident.

Broke ankle last year, 9 months later ankle popping very loudly with movement, no pain

in

Sorry in advance for the long post, and thanks in advance for taking the time to read it. Last summer, I was standing at a lab table in school, turned to walk and felt a sharp pain in my ankle. Ankle hurt very bad for a few weeks, then the pain started to subside. After the pain went away, I was left with very loud ankle popping, but no pain. I recently finally went to a foot doctor for this, and they took an xray and discovered that I had broken my ankle.

Screw Removal Recovery

In December of 2007, I had ORIF surgery to repair a right ankle syndesmosis injury with a fibula fracture just a few inches below the knee. In one week, I have another surgery scheduled to remove the hardware from the ankle. I did not see an orthopedic specialist during my pre-op appointments this week, so I did not have a chance to ask questions.

After this outpatient procedure to remove the screws and plate, will I have to go non-weight bearing again, and if so, for how long?

achilles tendon, please help

in

Hi
I hurted my tendon 8 months ago playing tennis, overuse.
It got better, but always with morning pain. then I hurted it again and again.
After that, I had an ultrasound that the impression was this: Left mid achilles tendinopathy, no full or partial-thickness tear identified.
The doctor put me for 2 months in a brace and then one more month without it and without running.
During that month, I started to do stretches to the calf muscles, I just started playing tennis again. But today it started to hurt again. It is not as bad as the first time, BUT IT IS HURTING A BIT

Ankle Replcement Devices

I am looking to find U.S. surgical centers where the STAR (Europen) device is being used for ankle arthroplasties... especially around the Bay Area.

Fractured Fibula

I recently fractured the distal part of my fibula. Is it normal to have increased pain at night?
