Achilles Tendon Repair

In regards to Surgical Repair of the Achilles Tendon, Buyer Beware. I recently (10 weeks ago) underwent surgery to repair my Achilles Tendon. The surgeon and I discussed the procedure and possible complications (or so I thought) the day prior to surgery. I had an MRI Scheduled at 4 pm the day prior to my surgery which was scheduled for 7 am. I thought GEE, that is a short time between these two events, so I asked the surgeon if he would have the results prior to the surgery.

growth plate fracture

My 8 year old daughter was diagnosed with a salter harris I fracture. Nothing showed on the xray, so it was a clinical diagnosis based on where the pain was. After the removal of a half cast (she was able to walk) she still had pain. An MRI was taken and showed that she has 2 fratures in the talus. Where is the growth plate in conjunction of the talus? Since both types of fractures are hard to spot on an x-ray, could the talus have been the problem all along? Is the growth plate pain and talus pain around the same area?

Ankle Surgery

5 years ago I broke my leg and a small bone in my ankle the doctor told me that I would still have the up and down motion of my foot but that it wiould no longer roll to the left or right . And that being said the foot does not sit flat I am walking on the out side of my foot and it hurts alot, What I was wondering is can the small bone in my ankle be fixed to where I could roll my foot and get back to where it was origianlly and if so what are the chanches of getting arthritis in it. And also after 5 years how long would it take to get the mussels and ten dents back in shape.

old sprain

My daughter sprained her ankle 13 months ago. She's a cheerleader and got back to cheering as soon as she was able. She's been competing this year and her ankle hurts almost constantly. The sprain had healed but is giving her constant problems now. She can bear weight on it, flies and tumbles on it, but it is giving her problems after practice and competitions. The ligament below the inner ankle bone is protruding out farther than on the other foot. What is the best course of action with this?

numbness and pulled calf muscles

in

I've had increasing numbness, tingling, hot sensations in the right foot, ankle, lower leg. During a stress test the cardiologist said it was not circulatory related. Note my previous post about the strange "blister" beneath my fibula on right ankle.

3-5 years ago, I was had to curtail running due to multiple lower-calf pulled muscles. They occur suddenly, preceeded by a cramp-like tightening in either calf, after about 2 miles of running, regardless of pace. Treating by stretching, toe raises, has not materially helped.

"sac" blister below Fibula

in

A “sac” has formed in my right ankle below the end of the fibula. It periodically bulges the skin surface like a blister before rupturing. This results in a clear, highly viscous fluid being extruded. The “blister” stings like a bee until the fluid is extruded. Then it subsides, though the scab and some soreness remains. The process is repeated about every two weeks.

Any help appreciated.

odd ankle pain

I ride jump horses. I have been told by a dr. that I had subluxing knee caps and that is why I have had random pain there but recently I have started having pain in my ankles. is it possible to have subluxing ankles? and how could i fix it, tape?? Im so lost

Peroneal tendonitis

I have (I think) peroneal tendonitis that will not go away. A year ago I slightly rolled my ankle while trail running, and strained my peroneal tendon. Despite two separate layoffs of 4 months (immediately afterward) and 3 months (most recently) since that time, the soreness persists. It's not noticeable while walking, or even jogging at an easy pace; but after 2-3 miles at a moderate pace, the pain returns. I stretch frequently and already do on a regular basis most of the stretches recommended for PT for this issue. Why is this still hanging around???

Question about Arizona Brace

Hello!
I'm new here but recently diagnosed with calcanealnavicular coalition in my right ankle. I've had 3 surgeries (peroneal tendon repair, screw removal, tumor removal) on it BEFORE my current doc saw the coalition on my very first visit with him. The other doc missed it three times.... frustrating.

I'm 40 years old and all the non-surgical remedies seem to be geared more toward kids. My doc recommended that I get an Arizona Brace. He said I don't need surgery until it gets to the point that it affects my quality of life.
