Waiting for Knee Replacement

I have been told that I need a knee replacement when I am ready. I also have a completely torn ACL in the same knee. I was prescribed an Unloader brace which helps a lot. My question is - can I do too much damage if I wait for the replacement? It hurts when I walk and at night, but I'm not sure that I want the surgery yet. The Doctor told me that the timing is up to me, based on how much pain I can handle, and other tools such as drugs and the brace. I just don't want to screw up my knee too much so that the replacement won't be successful.

the damage is done. you will

the damage is done. you will not affect anything by waiting that a total knee replacement will not fix. about the acl, it is cut during total knee so there will be no problem with having an acl insufficiency
