My husband has had Parkinson Disease for 27 years and lately his neck has been twisted to the side. He was being evaluated for Deep Brain Stimulation surgery when they questioned his neck. After having a CAT scan they found an old fracture. The facet on C5 is fractures and C5 and C6 is locked. He needs to have this repaired before we can continue with the DBS surgery. The surgeon said he would take out the bones, try to unlock them, replace with a shaped bone and a plate to stablize. Would love some explanation on this procedure.
