I am 27 years old and a mother of two young girls. I am hoping for a THR or Resurfacing, which ever will work for me.

I do not have much pain but the complete lace of mobility is driving me nuts. I am unsure if that is reason enough to have a surgery, but I am visiting an Ortho Doc tomorrow to go over options. I have never been to another Doctor since by right hip fusion in 98'. My hip has not been much of a problem until I had kids, gained weight, and now when I try to play with them it is stressfull situation to say the least.

I have been in contact with two other women who had THR after hip fusions. They spoke of being able to ride bikes and give birth naturally even with a fusion. I guess mine is a different case. I am unable to ride a bike, tie my shoe, shave my leg, give birth naturally, sit on the ground/floor, or stand for long periods due to back pain.

If anyone has some insight on these issues I would greatly appreciate it.
