Bruised Palm

About 6 months ago I was working as a cook, vigorously chopping. The next day I had a huge bruise on my wrist and the palm of my hand. There was even a bruise that seeped thru to my ring finger knuckle. Slowly over a period of 6-8 weeks, my pain was increasing and traveling up my arm. One Dr. thought I had ulnar nerve hammer syndrome. Through MRI testing it was found I have a bone cysts (lesion) on my 3d metacarpal 1.1mm- 1.5 m in size.
EMG/NVC was abnormal in Median Palmer latency. Mild carpal tunnel. He prescribed Lyrica ( great drug), a wrist splint and referred me to a neuro surgeon. Does anyone have an opinion about the lesion causing nerve damage? And how do they treat bone cysts? And do you think a hand surgeon is capable of handling the lesion and nerve damage?
