Broken thumb in 21 month old
My poor little man (almost 21 months) has broken his thumb. His big brother accidentally closed it in the hall door on Monday night and the GP has told us he is 99% sure it is broken. He said there was no point getting an x-ray as there is nothing that can be done for a broken thumb. He said it will heal in time and we have tape to strap his thumb up with.
My question is: Is there really nothing that can be done? I don't want it to heal wrong and end up causing him dramas down the track. What should we be doing for a broken thumb?
Thanks Renee

I know this comment is coming a month too late, but my Brother's daughter had the same thing happen.
Gracie was just 1 and her older sister closed a bedroom door on her finger. There was only a little piece of skin holding it on. The doctor wrapped it and taped it and said it was a wait and see kind of situation.
Today (5 yrs later) Gracie is fine and so is her finger-- Good luck
