PLEASE HELP AT MY WITS END WITH THE PAIN
To whom ever may read this, I am new to this sight and not exactly sure how it works. i have read and learned lots of new things from this sight.
I wanted to share my story and maybe just maybe I can get some advice on what to do next.
I was diagnosed with avascular necrosis of the right hip 3 years ago, I was told back then in order to fix the problem with my hip I would need to have Surgery (core decompression). I had the surgery and have been in pain ever since.
I was also diagnosed with Osteoarthritis and busitis in the same hip. Today the pain is almost unbearable, I am currently taking morphine Sulfate 15 mg twice a day, mobic 500 mg three times a day for muscle spasms and for break through pain vicodin.
My Orthopedic Doctor says there is nothing wrong with my hip and ordered more tests MRI and back X Rays. I am Currently waiting for the results.
In the mean time, My leg swells, my buttocks hurts and swells I have pain radiating down my leg to my foot and even in my toes, I can't sit for a prolong durations, I can't walk to far.
I have been comunicating all of this to my doctor to no avail, but it seems as if he does not care. Any advice on how to get this man to listen to me about my pain?
I am diagnosing myself with Piriformis Syndrome; in reading about it, it seems that I have all the symptoms.
By the way he would not prescribe any pain meds, he told me to contact my primary care physician to get them. THANK GOD FOR MY PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN
PLEASE SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED
THANKS

sounds like ur core decompression failed and you need a total hip.now with the pain meds, if you showed up in my clinic i would not give u any pain meds either. if morphine is not working then there is something truly wrong that needs correcting. quit masking ur symptoms with pain meds and fix the problem.
Did you have the Surgery Recently?
I had the same kind of Pain and Swollen foot 3 or 4 days after the Core Decompression. I used 3 or 4 Pillows to rest the Foot elivated. This will help you to move th fluid from the swollen foot.
Why don't you use Couple of Pillows resting elivated Your Swollen Foot?
Why don't you ask your Primary Care Physican to provide "PROXICAM" ( My spelling may be wrong) this will be help you for your pain.

I undergo MRI's and X-rays at least once to twice a year. The results are always the same there is nothing wrong with your leg. I am told that the surgery did what it was supposed to do that the blood flow in my hip is fine and that the bones are healthy. The last doctor visit was 2 weeks ago with my orthopedic surgeon, the same thing nothings wrong. But he suggested a cortisone shot in the side of leg, at this point I am willing to try anything to at least get the swelling down. To my surprise it the swelling has gone and therefore the pain is at a manageble level.
It is hard to fix the problem when you don't know what the problem is, but i really do appreciate your input.
Thank you so much for your response. I will do some research on the pain meds you have suggested, i also want to give you an update on my situation:
