I heard there is an alternative to replacing hips now. Is this true?

For some people who require a hip replacement, there is another option called a metal-on-metal hip resurfacing. This particular procedure allows the patient to keep part of the hip and the joint part is resurfaced to allow easier, pain-free motion.
This procedure is often considered a viable alternative for younger patients who doctors are reluctant to perform a full replacement on because of age.

Hip resurfacing
Please go here before making any decisions. Hip resurfacing is an excellent choice for younger active people with Hip problems. I am about to have mine done and I am so glad I found this out before I had a THR (total hip replacement). BUT IT IS VERY IMPORTANT YOU FIND AN EXPERIENCED DOCTOR it is recommended that the doctor has done over 100 of these surgeries for a lower rate of failure. iT is fairly new to the US the FDA only approved it in 2006 but is widely used int he UK, and Asia, India, and more. The Doctors on this page are all pioneers and excellent doctors. Check it out and Good luck..
