Mystery Ankle Pain
I am a 23 year old woman who is looking for futher help in solving my mysterious pain. For the past year I have been experincing episodes of sudden sharp shooting pain in my ankles. I will stand up and go to walk, I will suddenly get sharp shooting pains in my ankles almost as if they are locking up, and I will literally fall to the floor. I not only experince it in my ankles but in my wrists as well. These episodes may last from a couple days to a week or two. Then they will disappear for sometime with no incident.
The worst is when I wake in the middle of the night to use the restroom. I will step on the floor, have the sharp pain which makes me fall to the bed for support, then as I set my hand/wrist on the bed to catch myself I will get a shooting pain in my wrist.
I know I am young, but I have other various medical issues that doctors were suprised at me having due to my age. I have Facet Joint Disease in my lower back, and Bursitis and Tendinitis in my left hip.
Any help or advice will be appreciated. I have a two year old and would like to keep up with her.

I have the same thing. It started a year ago. I don't get it in my wrists, but it is terrible painful in my ankles. It seems to come from a nerve in my lower back. It will sometimes start in the outside ankle just below the ankle bone and then I will feel my calf and buttock muscles cramp up like crazy just after I feel the sharp pain. I am thinking that this is caused by sciatic nerve or something not right with a lower back disk. If you have any info I would sure appreciate it.
