Sorry in advance for the long post, and thanks in advance for taking the time to read it. Last summer, I was standing at a lab table in school, turned to walk and felt a sharp pain in my ankle. Ankle hurt very bad for a few weeks, then the pain started to subside. After the pain went away, I was left with very loud ankle popping, but no pain. I recently finally went to a foot doctor for this, and they took an xray and discovered that I had broken my ankle. The ankle healed fine on it's own, and the doctor ( who was kind of hard to understand ) said that if I wasn't feeling any pain, I should be fine. First off, how did a bone brake with such a basic movement? I hardly moved at all, in fact. Secondly, the ankle popping I'm experiencing, although it has no pain, is very loud, and sounds sort of like grinding a little bit. I'm surprised there's no pain associated with it, but it just doesn't feel like it's benign joint popping like other joints do on occasion. This is fairly constant, very loud popping. It's usually 3 to 5 pops with each movement. I have full ankle rotation with no trouble. There doesn't appear to be any tendon subluxation that I can see. The only difference I can see in my two ankles, is a spot on top part of the injured foot, where the ankle and leg connect. It's has a little bit of a swollen look to it in that one area, but feels soft to the touch, not hard, and no pain when I put pressure on it. Before I spend the money ( money I don't have, sadly ) I was hoping to get some help from here first. Thanks again for taking the time to read this.
