Osteochondral lesion of the talus with peroneal tendon pain
I have had chronic ankle "stiffness" for over 12 years. I have a long history of sprains (football, soccer, volleyball) but have not had a major sprain for over 2 years. I have had sharp pain at the peroneal tendons, and I went to a podiatrist who taped for biomechanical disfunction. The pain along the peroneal tendons has decreased, but the pain at the tibial/talar joint increased. The pain now fluctuates between the two, peroneal pain is sharper, but the tibial/talar pain is more constant, irritating and in a way nauseating. Anyway, I was curious if anyone else had similar problems, secondary peroneal issues due to ankle dysfunction. I have had xrays taken just the other day, and I may get an MRI soon as well. Also if anyone has had experience with surgery for an osteochondral lesion, I would like any info regarding recovery (time frame, non-weight bearing vs weight bearing periods, etc). Thank you so much, Joel Lindeman
