Chronic Pain in Ankle
I have had chronic spains in my life, and I fx my left ankle in Oct' 04, and again in Apr' 05.... I was put into a cast both times and healed fine. Since then I have sprained my ankle a few more times, it constantly "gives" out. I have had X-Rays and all normal. Although I have a limited ROM and Propeoception is horrible. I always walk with a limp and my ankle and foot is always sore. I have to consistantly change positions because of the pain building up. I have an MRI next week, and I was wondering if anyone has an idea on whats going on. Is it just in my head because the Army docs cant figure it out. Even though this is my first MRI and Orthopedic appt. Anything helps! please let me know if any ideas. Thanks

It sounds like the issues I was/ am having. I have severe arthritis in my ankle and joints in my foot from a break when I was young. I had arthroscopy done in the spring with removal of a bone chip but the arthritis has gotten worse. I walk with a limp and have constant pain. All my joints in that ankle/foot hurt all day and night. If it is arthritis it should show up on the MRI. Good luck with everything. I hope they figure out what's going on and offer you something to help.
