Pain/aching/throbbing joints ... Rheumatoid?
5 weeks ago I was given a futura splint for my wrist as they thought that I had tendonitis, however I now have had aching in my proximal inter-phalangeal joints of my fingers and toes for the past 2 weeks. At times the aching turns to shooting pain starting in the joint and traveling up towards the finger tips, or throbbing and occassional stiffness. I am getting worried now that I may have Rheumatoid Arthritis but don't want to see a doctor as I am a student nurse and am afraid that Occupational Health wont let me stay on the course. The pain/aching has now begun in both wrists and ankles (especially when I am cold) and using a hot water bottle at night makes it all a bit easier. My knees have started to "pang" for a few seconds every few days but as of yet, is not bothing me too much. The aching in my toes is now constant,

Vinni,
As much as you may not want to, you really should see a rheumatologist and get a work up done. There is some great medicine out there that helps. I've personally seen this medicine work with a few patients of mine.
I don't think they could kick you out of the class just because of a diagnosis. That would fall under discrimination.
