Dislocation of knee
So it's almost been 2 years since I hyperextended my left knee which left me with a dislocation. I was sent to the hospital and it took them 3 trys to finally get it back into place. I was given drugs for the pain, given a brace and sent on my way. I followed up with my family physician the next day and he recomended physical therapy which I went through. After the therapy ended that was that no talk about surgery or anything. My recovery without the surgery took about 6 months and that was 2 years ago. 2 years later I am unable to move my knee certain ways, i sometimes feel a pop or crunching feeling while walking or kneeling. To this day I can not sit Indian Style. I am a veterinary technician so I am on my feet for 10-12 hours a day at work my job needs me to get onto the floor to wrestle with animals also I am constinetly lifting animals onto tables. You know the old saying is to lift with your knees not ur back. Well I feel that has caused more harm then good. I would say for the past month or two I have been having more problems with it and now my right knee is sore and I can feel crunching in both knees when I go to kneel down. I am going to the doctor today to discuss this problem however I was hoping to get others opinions on this topic. I guess my question is this, even though the injury was 2 years ago am I still a candidate for knee surgery. HELP, ANYONE PLEASE!!!! Thanks!-Stacey
