growth plate fracture
My 8 year old daughter was diagnosed with a salter harris I fracture. Nothing showed on the xray, so it was a clinical diagnosis based on where the pain was. After the removal of a half cast (she was able to walk) she still had pain. An MRI was taken and showed that she has 2 fratures in the talus. Where is the growth plate in conjunction of the talus? Since both types of fractures are hard to spot on an x-ray, could the talus have been the problem all along? Is the growth plate pain and talus pain around the same area? She now cannot put weight on her leg for 6 weeks, another MRI will be taken to see if it is healed.
