numbness in leg after (THR)
I am a 29 year old male who had a total hip replacemnt on the 17th on december 2008, as a result of leg perthis disease when i was 10 to 11 years old. My recovery is going good, i guess. I am only able to put 50% of my weight on the operated leg as of now, however i have very little pain from the hip socket. My range of moition is coming back in the area, as mussels are starting to come around. I would say that everything is going great however, after surgery when i left the hospital i still had a numbness in my operated leg on the outside of my calf and all of my foot. It has not gone away completly in the 3 weeks that i have been home, and have shown very little change. The calf is still numb as well as my foot. I have had 3 of my outside toes regainned feeling but where my calf is numb, it is starting to be very sensitive to the touch; even a little touch. What is causeing this? Should i be concerned about nerve damage? Could it still be the anesthesia? Maybe a bloodclot in its early stage? It is very disconcerning to think that my only problem so far is the calf and nowhere near my hip after all that was done to it.
