hip replacement at 33-vascular necrosis-infection-reaction to titanium hip
my husband had hip replacement at 33.He was diagnosed with vascular necrosis of both hips.He had left hip replacement three months later. About two days after surgeory he developed rash and swelling of the wound.Rash got down to knee before doctors admitted it was a infection and was treated, resulting in eleven night stay at hospital.
Never has the hip been right.with worse pain then before replacement. He been to doctors had x-rays and for 18mnths was told everything fine. Finally he had blood tests and bone scan done, thinking he still had infection.Blood test came back normal so infection ruled out.Bone scan came back as infection and or loosening.Specialist didnt no what was going on.At this point he had been living of panadineforte and working -physical work with lots of pain.Surgeon talked to french specialist who deals with titanium hips and come up with conclusion that my husband is having reaction to the hip.He is still trying to work and cant get his second total hip replacement done till end of january.
we are a family with two young children a new house. Who is going to pay the bills ect again?.We are just financially struggling and now going to be even worse of.To add to all that he's other hip will need to be done in near future.
I would like to hear from people in same situation?
