Sacroiliac Joint Injection

My symptoms are: pain to lower back i.e. where the "dimple" of your back is and buttock. The with referred (I think) pain in the groin only starts up if I do too much walking. I can't sit for any length of time because of the pain and actually sit to one side (I seem to sit on the side thats not painful) I can't walk either because I get pain in these 3 areas which increases afterwards.I feel OK lying down but not on the one side. I have done yoga for years and have tried to go back but the pain is worse for a few days afterwards. I have tried to "push" myself in doing certain exercises which were given to me by the physio but they don't seem to do much good except keep me flexible (which I think is a good idea) I have gone through the "piriformus" diagnosis and "bursitus" now the medical profession think its the sacroiliac joint and I do seem to have the sysmptoms.

I wonder if anyone can help me. I am not sure what to make of the injection I had 2 weeks ago. The needle was guided by x ray and went into where you would call the "dimble" of my back is. I don't think any dye was used and due to the chatting that was going on I didn't notice but I don't think there was any dye.

Is this the correct procedure?

This is the 3rd time now where it hasn't had any effect. I am taking amytriptoline (2) to try and sleep at night and off and on during the day I take Ibuprofen. Quite honestly nothing seems to work for the pain. I even sit on a hot water bottle when the pain gets really bad.

Has anyone - please - got any ideas?

Well, after 6 years with this complaint, and being a fairly fit person beforehand, I am open to ideas !
