Adult Stem Cells as an Alternative to Lumbar Disc Surgery?
I have suffered from a herniated L5-S1 Disc for years now. I am resisting surgery, as I am finding that people who get it are often worse off than before.
In looking for alternatives to surgery, like laser treatment, I came across a company in Colorado called Regenerative Sciences. They are injecting a person's own stem cells into their discs. From some examples on their website www.regenexx.com it looks like there have been some good clinical and MRI changes. (the MRIs are in the "Information for your Doctor" link. They also have a video that explains why it works.
I don't know a lot about stem cells. Has anyone out there heard of this?
Thanks!
