REMOVAL OF HARDWARE FROM ANKLE SURGERY
Posted August 5th, 2008 by goddess58I broke my ankle in July 2006 and had surgery for a trimalleolar fracture. It has been over 2 yrs. and I still have swelling and pain and cannot work as I cannot stand or walk on my ankle for more than 2 hrs. I have to constantly raise the ankle to stop the swelling. My doctor said I could have the hardware removed but I would have to go through another major surgery and be non weight-bearing again for over 2 mos. He also informed me that taking out the hardware may not make any improvement in my walking and standing ability.
