DDD advice
(I'm schedule for an upcoming surgery but I'm worried that I'm making the wrong decision). I have been diagnosed with degenerative disc b/w 5 & 6. MRIs and X-rays indicate shrinking disks and bone spurs. I have A LOT of pain in my neck – constant, shoulder & down the arm pain, elbow pain – inside, hand and finger pain - at times numbing - but not all the time, and LOTS of headaches. I find I cannot sleep at night from the shoulder and back pain. My doctor told me that I could get the shot to kill the nerve (which is scary all in itself). I'm not sure what I should do. I'm eventually going to need surgery, I'm only in my fortys and I know that this is common in older people. So should I get the shot to kill the nerve? Should I have the surgery?
