Chronic sprained ankle

Hello,

I severely rolled my ankle playing basketball about 8 years ago. It took a very long time to get "better". It was fine for about 3 years, meaning that I could do pretty much anything I wanted on it without a brace or any other support.

Then I rolled it again playing basketball about 2 years ago. Since then, I've rolled it dozens of times while trail running. Every time I do it, it hurts badly but only for a day or two and then the pain is pretty much gone.

My question is, how likely is it that I'll develop arthritis in the ankle and have pain in it as I age?

Thanks for any help.
Matt
