In high school, I dislocated my elbow. Is it possible I could someday end up with arthritis in the joint?
Any joint that has been severely injured could eventually develop osteoarthritis. The original injury may change the way the joint works just enough to cause extra wear and tear to the surfaces of the joint. Over time, the joint degenerates, causing pain and difficulty with daily activities. This condition is post-traumatic arthritis.
