Medical Multimedia Group. LLC, has been developing orthopaedic patient education since 1992. In 2007, we launched eOrthopod Public - an orthopaedic portal devoted to providing orthopaedic information that is understandable, well-illustrated and accessible.

The Internet is evolving - our vision is evolving.

What is it like to be a guest on eOrthopodTV?

eOrthopodTV is simply a one-on-one interview between the host, Randale C. Sechrest, MD, and a guest. Generally, each interview focuses on a single topic area - either a specific orthopaedic condition or a specific orthopaedic procedure.

Think of the interview in this way: As the interviewer, Dr. Sechrest plays the role of the patient - an uber patient if you will. Dr. Sechrest's job will be to represent all those patients who are trying to understand the condition or intervention being discussed. Dr. Sechrest will guide a comprehensive discussion, asking all the questions a patient should be asking during a consultation with a health care provider.

Patients are the target audience for the interview. These interviews are meant to provide a patient with clear understanding of their condition and the treatment decisions they face.

Imagine if your patients could eavesdrop on that sort of discussion. Once you place the video of your interview on your website, they can. Your patients are happier and better educated - and you save time. That's a pretty good deal.

Each interview lasts about 20 to 40 minutes. Depending on your available time and your interests, multiple interviews or "shows" can be recorded. The structure of each interview is consistent. What is eOrthopodTV Remote?

We conduct the interview over the Internet using videoconferencing software such as Skype. Prior to the interview, we ship you a "Studio in a Box" that contains all the equipment you need to connect to the Internet, conduct a videoconference and record your end of the conversation.

Medical Multimedia Group supplies all equipment necessary to participate and pays all production costs. All you need to provide is a quiet room, a high speed Internet connection and your knowledge.

In the studio, we use a format similar to the "Charlie Rose" style - two participants sitting across from one another at a table. When recording a series of interviews in the studio, our experience has shown that both the interviewee and interviewer wear out after about three topics. It is best to plan on about two hours in the studio at each session, followed by a break in between. An ideal schedule is to shoot two hours in the morning, break for lunch and then shoot two hours in the afternoon.

While you are in the studio, we can also capture video material that you would like to record for your own purpose. Would you like to videotape a welcome message for your website? postoperative instructions? informed consent? favorite Powerpoint presentation? Whatever you would like to get on tape, come prepared with a script and we will record up to one hour of video - for free.
