Does tissue engineering show any potential for use in spine surgery?

A recent study of 200 subjects undergoing single level lumbar fusion demonstrated that those using and engineered tissue called polyglactin-poly-p-dioxanone fleece healed three to six months sooner than those not using engineered tissue.
