Is there any connection between leukemia and metal implants used for joint replacement? I know it sounds like a long shot but my father was just diagnosed with leukemia. His blood work has shown elevated levels of chromium in the past. The doctor always thought this was from his metal hip joint replacement but didn't think it was a problem. Could there be a link? 0 sec ago 739
I tore the hamstring muscle in my left leg (up by the buttocks). It's been six months and it's not getting any better. I'm stiff. It hurts, and I have limited motion. Have I waited too long to have surgery? 14 weeks 2 days ago 97
If only I could turn back the clock of time. I was getting off the subway in a big hurry, caught my heel on the platform edge, and fell. I broke my hip but worse than that, I have a hip replacement and the fracture was in the bone around the new hip. Fortunately just the tip of the stem is broken. I'm waiting for the surgeon now to tell me what's what. But I'm wondering what you can tell me about what to expect while I'm waiting. 14 weeks 2 days ago 63
My life just went from bad to worse. I was training for the local senior olympics and broke my leg. The problem is I have a hip and knee replacement on that side. So now I have a break between them. I'm in the hospital waiting for the surgeon to tell me what to do. I'm searching the web for any information on this type of problem. What can you tell me? 14 weeks 2 days ago 48
I found an old diary of my great-great grandfather's (from the late 1700s). Seems his wife was bed bound from a hip fracture -- sounds like the very same kind of fracture my mother has right now. The description was the same anyway. But she's up and walking a week later! What do we know now that they didn't know back then? 15 weeks 2 days ago 78
